My primary workspace is my home office. I pay a monthly rent and was wondering what is the best way to deduct a percentage of this expense to the corporation?
I currently do not do payroll and would like to avoid doing so if possible to keep things simple.
What are my options?
Hi John, you can charge back a portion of your home rent to your corporation. The allowable portion is determined by calculating the % that your home office space is of the total size of your home. For example, assume that your office space is 200 square feet, and your home is 2,000 square feet in total. That means that you can charge back 10% of your home rent to your corporation.
