Based on my research, I do not have to declare either the following two properties held abroad.I don’t own a home in Canada .I know foreign property for personal use is not required to be reported to T1135 .
* A foreign permanent residence that was bought by me and is occupied by parents most of times and by me when I visit them
* A home that I got in inheritance from my living father and is occupied occasionally by them some times and by me when I visit them
Does it matter how many days I stay in foreign property ?
Does it matter if it is one foreign property or more than one?
Hi Mohan,
You can have more than one personal use property, including a home that is occupied by your parents that you visit on occasion. Personal use property is not reported on form T1135.
