My broker re-balanced my investments by selling some stocks before I got a chance to inform him I am a non resident. What are the tax implications? Which tax return needs to be filed?

Thanks

Hi,

You need to file a T1 Departure Return and you may owe departure tax. Gains / losses from marketable securities sold after your departure date are not taxable in Canada.
