Hi Allan,
I have a question so thought of reaching out to you. Before that I would like to thank you for your response to my previous question and also thank you for you blog posts and videos , they are very informative and useful.
I, my wife and child got the PR in 2018 and spent only 14 days in Canada. Recently I have moved to Canada and my wife and child is in UAE. My wife is working full time in UAE. My question is, is there any tax on my wife income and on money which wife will bring with her next year?
Thank you.
Now that you have permanently relocated to Canada, you are a tax resident of Canada. This means that your global income will be subject to Canadian income tax, starting from the date that you permanently moved to Canada. Since your wife is linked to you, she will also be subject to Canadian income tax on her global income.
