Hello,
First of all I want to thank you for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us through your blog and articles.
I tried to find information online on how to calculate or at least estimate taxes on passive income in a corporation. I read your article How To Prepare Corporation Income Tax Return For Business In Canada but from what I understood it's about the active income only.
It would be great to have a step-by-step tutorial on how to calculate the corporation passive income taxes, which forms/schedules to use, which information is necessary and how to organize it, etc.
It would be a great tool for those of us who have retained funds in the corporation for retirement and now that we are getting close to retirement we need to understand how much we should expect to pay in terms of taxes on the passive income, once the active income is gone.
Not sure you'll ever have time for such an article, anyway thank you again for your great work.
Cristian

Hi Cristian, thank you for your positive feedback. I will do my best to prepare a tutorial on how to complete the tax forms for passive investment income. You should complete Schedule 3 (dividends) and Schedule 7 (all investment income) as part of the corporate tax return preparation process. Note that capital gains are reported on Schedule 6.
