Hi Katharine,

Thank you for your message.

Yes, we can assist with the preparation and filing of two routine T2062 forms.

Fee Structure

Our standard fee is based on the following scenarios:

  • $600 + disbursements per form – if there are two non-resident co-owners of one property and both forms relate to the same sale
  • $1,200 + disbursements per form – if the two forms relate to separate properties (i.e., two distinct real estate transactions)

This includes:

  • Preparation of the T2062 form(s)
  • Preparation of supporting documents (e.g., adjusted cost base, legal documents)
  • Correspondence with the CRA
  • Issuance of the Certificate of Compliance (once accepted)

To get started, please send us the following information:

  1. Sale Details
    • Property address
    • Date of sale (closing date)
    • Gross sale price
    • Name and contact information of the Canadian lawyer handling the sale
  2. Ownership Information
    • Full legal names and addresses of all non-resident owners
    • SIN or ITN numbers (if available)
    • % ownership for each co-owner
    • Residency status and country of residence
  3. Property Acquisition Details
    • Date of original purchase
    • Purchase price
    • Legal fees and land transfer tax paid on purchase
    • Major capital improvements made to the property (with dates and costs)
  4. Rental Information (if applicable)
    • Dates the property was rented
    • Total gross rent received during ownership
    • Any depreciation claimed (CCA)
    • Rental expenses (e.g., property tax, insurance, utilities)
  5. Supporting Documents
    • Purchase and sale agreements
    • Most recent property tax bill
    • Summary of closing statement from sale
    • Proof of major renovations or improvements
    • Void cheque or bank account details for refund (if applicable)

We’d be happy to schedule a 15-minute complimentary call to confirm the scope and ensure we’re set up to proceed. You can book a time here: https://madanca.com/contact-us/

Looking forward to assisting you.
