Hi! In preparation for next years filing, I need to better prepare. I worked in the US last Dec. 2023. I did file my tax in US and Canada separately. By this years filing, I need help in my tax. I would like to ask how much is your fee? By the way, my spouse and kids still live in Canada. I am under TN in California. Thanks for your response.
Hi Kenny,
You are likely a tax resident of Canada under the Canada-US tax treaty because your home, spouse, and child are in Canada. Therefore, you are liable for Canadian income tax on your global income. You must claim a foreign tax credit to avoid double taxation.
My services & estimated fees are as follows:
Preparation of Personal Tax Return - $270/person
Form T2209 Foreign Tax Credit - $165 (Kenny)
US 1040-NR Return + Form 8833 - $450 (Kenny)
US FBAR, if required - $200 (Kenny)
Disbursements and taxes are extra. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
I need further details to verify your filing status, the forms to be completed, and the final fees. You can reach me by email: amadan@madanca.com or you can book an online meeting with me here: https://madanca.com/contact-us/
